Marysville
Buddhists mark Bodhi Day
Bodhi Day and the December memorial service will be observed Sunday at the Buddhist Church, 125 B St., in Marysville.
The service, at 10 a.m., includes officiant the Rev. Carol Castle of the Sacramento Buddhist Church Betsuin.
Bodhi Day, or Jodo E, is the day Prince Siddhartha was “reborn” as Sakyamuni Buddha.
The memorial service is to pay respect to those who have died in December over the years.
Yuba City
Couple serving Texas mission
Yuba City residents Larry and Sally Bagley are serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, spending time in the Texas Dallas Mission.
Members of the Buttes Vista Ward in Yuba City, they have been living in Rowlett, Texas, for the past two months.
He is a retired Sutter County employee.
Olivehurst
Christmas service change
Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Olivehurst is rescheduling the time of its Christmas Day Sunday morning service.
The Christmas day service on Dec. 25 is at 9 a.m.
The regular worship service time, 11 a.m., resumes on Jan. 1.

Yuba City
Services, concert set
Crossroads Community Church is celebrating Christmas and the new year with services on Dec. 24 and 25 and a free concert on Dec. 31.
The Christmas Eve candlelight service is at 6 p.m., with the Christmas day services at 9 and 11 a.m.
The new year’s eve concert, with The Nelons, is from 7 p.m. to midnight.
