• Hobbies: Gardening, finding bargains at flea markets and yard sales, collecting NASCAR die-cast cars and racing memorabilia, swimming
• Where do you get your news? Radio, TV, Appeal-Democrat, of course
• What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter Area? My dad, who was stationed at Beale Air Force Base. I graduated from Wheatland High School because the Beale kids were bused there.
• If you won a $10 million cash prize, what would you do with it? Pay off my bills, go to Las Vegas, invest in my retirement. I'm no spring chicken!
• Favorite musical artist: I'm a country music fan, particularly of Brad Paisley, but most country.
• Favorite television show: "Deal or No Deal," "Dancing with the Stars" and "Survivor" I even auditioned for it.
• Do you have any heroes? My daughter, Kristina, because she's self-confident, smart and owns her own successful children's entertainment business in the Bay Area. And my son, Tim, who is a free spirit.
• How would you describe yourself? Busy and fun with a good sense of humor
• Three items your require daily: Food, water, Diet Pepsi
• What kind of pets do you have? I have two dogs that I got from the Sutter Buttes Canine Reserve. I also have two stray cats who adopted me.
• What was your best subject in school? Drama. My son says it's still my best subject.
• What are your favorite places to go in the area? Bike trails along the Feather River and the new park by Stabler Lane and Pease Road in Yuba City. Also, the farmers' market on Center Street is the best place to get honey and fresh flowers.
• What's your biggest pet peeve? Toothpaste in the sink.
• What's your dream job? I've been doing what I enjoy for about 35 years now. I went to beauty school in Yuba City, starting my career at Copper Penny Cut & Curl long before this town had a mall. I can't imagine doing anything else.
• What's something that others might not know about you? I actually do hair and makeup for The Acting Company in addition to my clients at the salon.
