Letter: Yuba Highlands lacks infrastructure

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Where is the start-up money going to come from for all the services that will be needed (for Yuba Highlands)?

River Highland Community Service District is broke. They do not even own a pipe wrench. There will be a need for a big office building. There are no office buildings for rent in the Smartville area. They will need pickups, trucks, back hoes, and a roller to repair roads. All kinds of hand tools for road repair, park maintenance, and water and sewer, will be needed. It is unbelievable the staff that they will need, an equipment yard, and a big shop. Remember, Yuba Highlands is about the size of Marysville; look at the equipment and staff they have, and it is not enough.

The money the schools receive will just buy portable classrooms. At build-out, the school district will have to float a bond to buy the school site the developer has set aside. This means everyone in the Wheatland school district will be assessed.

A no vote is needed.
