If Marysville resident Ericka Lee had a million dollars, she said she would start a foundation for local homeless children.

Ericka Lee

Age: 34.

Family: Fiancé, Junior Lee; children, Kayla, Roy, Jason, Preston and Hayley.

Residence: Marysville.

Occupation: Stylist at Gafford's Shear Magic in Marysville.

Hobbies, interests: Camping, hiking, anything outdoors — it's a lot of fun, especially when kids are involved.

What is your goal for the new year? Continue to boost clientele, be more involved with the kids' schools.

What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? Born and raised in Yuba City, moved to Marysville in 1999.

What do you like about Yuba-Sutter? Historic D Street in Marysville and Plumas Street in Yuba City. These areas have a lot of history behind them. I love the downtown Marysville area, the old structures.

What's kept you here? Family and friends.

What is the closest you've been to a famous person? The TV screen; (though) I hear we are in some way related to (actor) Scott Baio, back by three or four generations ago by a grandparent.

What would you do with a million dollars? I would still work, set up college funds, have essentials, start a foundation for local homeless kids. And I would like to purchase my home.

Who has had a strong influence in your life? My mom, Claudine Helsem, who passed away a few years ago. She raised me in an old-fashioned manner and made me realistic with my own children. She was an inspiration.

Do you have a favorite memory you would like to share? When I worked for the disabled (with California Exceptional People Services). I took people as participants to a Christmas parade in Marysville.

What is your dream job? Back to taking care of the disabled, having a business that makes a huge impact in their lives.

What is your pet peeve? When my family squeezes the toothpaste tube in the middle.

What are you best known for? Being a mom.

What do you like about yourself? That I'm a people person. I love to socialize.

Where do you get your news? Sometimes with my dad — he's read the Appeal-Democrat his whole life — and the Internet.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? What didn't I want to be? My biggest goal was to be a nurse, then later it was to be a hairstylist.
