Briefs: Discovery Shop sale set for Dec. 14-15

A semi-annual storewide savings event is Dec. 14-15 at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop at 1270 Stabler Lane, suite 310, Yuba City.

Donations of clothing, jewelry, electronics and household items are accepted during store hours, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

LIVE OAK

Gift exchange set at senior center

A Christmas gift exchange is planned from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Live Oak Senior Center, 10200 O St., Live Oak.

Gifts valued at $5 are requested to participate.

The event is in concurrence with the center's regular lunch held at the same time and place, Monday-Friday.

Suggested donations for lunch are $5 for ages 60 and under; $2.50 for ages 61 and over. Lunches are provided by the Community Action Agency of Butte County.

MARYSVILLE

Musical show coming to town

"The End of the World Show" is presented by the Yuba-Sutter Music Scene.

Festivities begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 21, with doors open at 6:30 p.m., at the Lee Burrows Arts Center for the Arts, 630 E St., Marysville.

The event features four bands playing live music. An ugly Christmas sweater contest is also part of the event and the winner will receive a prize.

Safe and Sober plans under way

Plans are under way for the 2013 River Valley High School Annual Safe and Sober Grad Night.

Donations are sought for the event that follows the graduation ceremony.

Prizes, food products, serving platters or any sort of contribution is sought.
