A short string of recent burglaries at a south Yuba City storage facility remains under investigation, despite the arrest of at least one suspect, the Sutter County Sheriff's Department said on Saturday.

At least five burglaries have been reported since the beginning of January at Greater American Self Storage on Hunn Road, Sgt. Dan Butler confirmed.

The most recent incident was reported Saturday and another was reported Friday.

Eric Marchelino, 32, of Yuba City, was arrested Jan. 12 in connection with at least one burglary at the facility, authorities said.

"He could've done them all, but it's still under investigation," Butler said.

Investigators said Marchelino had stashed some stolen property in a unit at the same site.He was not listed as an inmate on Saturday night at the Sutter County Jail.

Butler said various items have been taken from the facility, including tools, baseball cards, a power sprayer and one firearm.

The .40-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun has not been recovered. It was reported stolen Friday, Butler said.

A total value of lost or damaged property has not been established.

It remains unclear if all five units were broken into on the same night or at different times because the thefts are only reported after an owner or manager checks on a particular unit, officials said.
