What is the importance of faith in your life? Faith is essential in my life. It gives me strength when life's challenges overwhelm me. For example, our daughter Kenzi was hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk this summer. As my wife and I dashed to help her, our faith accepted her fate. It was a miracle as she is alive and doing well and back in college. Our faith is not dependent on only good things happening. We accept all of life's challenges and leave it in God's hands.

How do you live out your faith? Faith is not enough! James 2:17, 24 says that faith by itself, if not accompanied by action, is dead.... a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. My wife Carol and I and our family are trying to live our faith out loud and do it with love. We are not there yet, but we're trying.

Faith in Action appears Saturdays. It features a member of a church, temple or mosque and the importance of their faith. To suggest someone to be featured, contact Faith & Family coordinator Larry Badger at 749-4776 or lbadger@ appealdemocrat.com.
