Three Cheers: Store owner blesses family
Comments 0 | Recommend 0My fourth-grade daughter wanted to play the violin. My wife proudly dusted off her old violin and presented it to her. What a profound moment: A mother handing down her beloved instrument to the next generation in our family.
The violin had been packed away for years. My wife never had much opportunity to play after her first chair days in high school. Needless to say, it needed a little TLC. She took it to Pete's Music in Yuba City to have it tuned. When Pete saw the violin he was amazed at how well kept it had been and he could sense my wife's passion for this heirloom and her desire to share her music with our child. Not only did Pete use great care in preparing my wife's violin to give to our daughter, he gave my wife a violin of her own to play alongside her. My wife came home in amazement of Pete's kindness. Her eyes were welled with tears of joy. Since then, my daughter has been taking violin classes and my wife has joined the Yuba-Sutter Symphony and is preparing for her debut.
Thank you Pete for your random act of kindness. Because of you my wife and my daughter can share together the joy and experience of the violin. One day those instruments will go to my grandchildren and another generation of violinists will be born! Godspeed to you Pete and thanks for blessing our family with the gift of music.
