Letter: Waste management study appreciated by resident

Kudos to the Regional Waste Management Authority for having the good sense and courage to find out if we're getting a good deal on our trash collection.

They might find out we're getting the best deal possible. They also might find out we could do better.

Now if only other government entities could have that same courage to look at their operations to see where improvement could be made.

For instance — Marysville could look at the need to have its own dispatch center. Maybe it does and maybe it doesn't. But until the City Council actually looks at the issue, they'll never know if that's a good way to go.

Again for Marysville. Maybe it's time for the Council to study whether the city having its own police force is the best way to operate. But they'll never know if they won't at least look at the issues.
