Several shots fired in Yuba City neighborhood
At least five shots were fired early Tuesday in a Yuba City neighborhood.
One round went through the window of a family’s home at about 1 a.m. in the 600 block of Ainsley Avenue, Yuba City Police spokeswoman Shawna Pavey said.
Nobody was hurt.
The homeowner, a 42-year-old woman, told police the shot entered through a window in the southwest corner of her house. Pavey said multiple residents heard at least five shots fired and several people heard a vehicle speed away, but police have not located any eyewitnesses.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear.
Police have declined to release the woman’s name at this time.
“We’re not going to release that information at least until we can determine what the motivation behind this may have been,” Pavey said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Yuba City Police Department at 822-4660.
