Air Force Reserve Airman Geoffrey J. Hayes graduated from basic military training in November at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The son of Marcia and Tom Stinnett of Yuba City, he is a 2010 graduate of River Valley High School.

Navy Seaman Apprentice John M. Walker was promoted to his current rank after completing basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
The son of Angela M. and Bruce D. Walker of Yuba City, he is a 2011 graduate of Yuba City High School.

Justina A. Dunne of Rough and Ready, a cadet at the Virginia Military Institute, was among about 1,500 people to march in this year's presidential inaugural parade Jan. 21 in Washington, DC.
She is the daughter of Justin M. Dunne and Alyson Good.
The cadets marched from the US Capitol building to the White House and the presidential reviewing stand.

A 2012 graduate of Wheatland Union High School, he is the son of Diane Rock of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Dennis Schmitt of Olathe, Kan.

The son of James Naiman of Summerville, SC, he is a 2004 graduate of Wheatland Union High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2009 from Johnson and Wales University, Providence, RI.
