Marysville ties Capital Chrisitan; Yuba City falls
The Yuba College volleyball team just keeps rolling along.
Brenna McDonald recorded 11 kills, four digs and an ace, and the 49ers received solid contributions from everyone on their roster to pick up a straight-set Bay Valley Conference victory over Los Medanos in Pittsburg on Wednesday night.
The Niners won the match by game scores of 25-7, 25-8, 25-10, improving their record to 16-1 overall while moving to a perfect 9-0 in the BVC.
Emily Toledo had three kills and a pair of blocks, Alyssa Mills notched three kills, Katie Olson recorded four aces and Angela DeHaan chipped in with four aces, a block and a kill in the victory.
Sam Foster came through with 15 assists, four digs and four aces, Shaila Gidel had four digs and Allison Foster tallied three aces for Yuba, which continues BVC play at the College of Alameda on Friday night.

Marysville 2, Capital Christian 2
In Marysville — Taking the pitch with a heavy heart, the Indians played the defending Sac-Joaquin Section Division-V champion Cougars to a draw in a Golden Empire League match at Marks Field.
Thomas Mehler tallied a goal and an assist and Alfredo Real scored a goal for Marysville, which played the game in honor of Rogelio Vejar, the 2-month old brother of freshman Nelson Vejar who passed away on Monday.
Freddy Terriquez finished with nine saves in goal for the Indians, who moved to 9-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the GEL with the draw.
Natomas 2, Yuba City 1
In Sacramento — The Honkers will be playing for their playoff lives on Monday against their biggest rival.
With the loss to the Nighthawks, Yuba City (4-3-2) is in third place in the Tri-County Conference behind Pioneer and TCC-champion River Valley.
The only way Yuba City can guarantee itself a playoff spot is by beating RV on Monday. If YC loses and Woodland beats Pioneer on Monday, the Honkers are out of the postseason picture. If the Wolves lose, Yuba City is in no matter what.
