Perillo, Atkinson lead Y-S Combat
Josh Perillo and Jeremy Atkinson had strong showings in the open division of the Nevada Union Freestyle Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, and the Yuba Sutter Combat grapplers also recorded three firsts in the high school division and four more in the midget and bantam classes.
Perillo was second in the freestyle and Greco-Roman styles at 171 pounds, and Jeremy Atkinson (160) placed second in freestyle.
In the high school division, Jeremy Holt (171) won both the freestyle and Greco-Roman styles, while Ben Gacayan (119) placed first in freestyle and second in Greco-Roman; and Lane Patterson (145) was first in freestyle and third in Greco-Roman.
Tim Nevarez (130) and Austin Morehead (171) each took second in both freestyle and Greco-Roman, as did Montana Payne and Devin Skiver, who shared second-place finishes at 140 pounds.
Mason Lopez (120), Dylan Whitsett (135), Michael Allen (160) and Wes Bishop (heavyweight) took second in freestyle. Kyle Morehead (160) placed second in freestyle and third in Greco-Roman. Kenny Hicks (140) took third in freestyle, and Blake Scroggins (103) took third in Greco-Roman.
In the midget division, Logan Coats (56) placed first in both freestyle and Greco-Roman and Harlan Shelton (50) took first in freestyle and second in Greco-Roman.
In the bantam division, Cole Shelton (50) placed first in both freestyle and Greco-Roman, and Tyler Reynolds (55) placed second in Greco-Roman.

Olson first at Junior Olympics
Loree Olson won one event while competing for the Feather River Aquatic Club at the Sierra Nevada Junior Olympics at Solano College last weekend.
Olson won the girls 11-12 age 50 butterfly with a time of 29.16 seconds. She also placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:07.88) and the 100 individual medley (1:07.31). She was fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:08.6) and fifth in the 200 backstroke (2:27.2).
Aaron Birch placed second in the boys 10 and younger 200 freestyle (2:20.29) and 100 backstroke (1:14.41), third in the 100 freestyle (1:06.37), and fifth in the 100 breaststroke (36.38) and the 50 freestyle (29.86).
