Letter: Stop killing animals just to wear their fur

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Some 75 million animals are killed for their fur every year. Many are skinned alive or held struggling underwater to drown, all in the name of fashion - even dogs and cats.

Items labeled as faux fur are often real fur. Many garments sold in the U.S. are manufactured in China where an estimated two million dogs and cats are killed and skinned each year.

In 2000, Congress passed a law that banned the sale of such fur in the U.S. But because of a labeling loophole, garments trimmed with $150 or less worth of fur can go unlabeled.

Support the Truth in Fur Labeling Act. H.B. 208/S.B. 342 Please help now. Contact the Humane Society at www.hslf.org
