60th Anniversary: Furmidge
Olivehurst residents Robert Curtis and Blanche Ann Furmidge, the former Blanche Kindred, and their children and their families had formal individual family portraits taken as part of the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary celebration.
A family dinner followed the photo session, hosted by the couple’s children and their spouses, held Aug. 18 at the home of their eldest daughter.
The couple met while he was stationed with the US Air Force in Portland, Ore., and were married Aug. 18, 1952, in Stevenson, Wash.
Residents of the Yuba-Sutter area for 35 years, they previously lived throughout the United States and in the Philippine islands.
He retired from the US Air Force and Sunsweet.
She is a retired licensed vocational nurse.
Both are graduates of Yuba College.
They have five children, Barbara Kelsey and Dorothy Martin of Yuba City, Robert Furmidge of Chico, Ralph Furmidge of Willows and David Furmidge of Granite Bay.
Their family also includes nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
