Gold Sox release schedule
February 15, 2006 - Forty-four home games.
That's what fans of the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox can see this summer at All Seasons RV Stadium.
Tuesday the Gold Sox unveiled a 50-game schedule that includes just six road games and 11 straight Thursday through Sunday weekend home stands starting May 25.
“The advantage of our schedule is that fans of the Gold Sox know that we play every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7 o'clock for 11 weeks,” said co-managing partner Peter Bavasi. “You can set your watch by it.”
All 50 games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Yuba-Sutter is planning a free inter-squad scrimmage and fan-fest on May 24 to kick-start the season.
Diehard fans could actually see all 50 games without much trouble, as five of the Gold Sox's road games will be played in Solano against the Thunderbirds with the sixth game scheduled for Sacramento City College against the Sacramento Legends.
The Seaside Wildcats of Oregon come to town for the season-opening four-game series.
Yuba-Sutter will face the Thunderbirds 10 times, more than any other opponent - they'll come to Marysville five times in addition to the five games in Solano.
The Gold Sox will end their season by hosting the Suisun City Sultans for a four-game series Aug. 3-6.
