Letter: Postmaster general earns how much?
Thank you for carrying articles about the Postal Service. What bothers me about this issue is one of the same issues that bothered the general public during the bailouts of the auto industry and others: the arrogance of those in power.
How many people know that one of the first things Patrick Donahoe did when he became postmaster general of our money-losing post office was to give himself a $45,000 raise? At $245,000, Donahoe's salary is one of the top 10 in government.
Yes, mail volume has gone down. But how does that justify larger paychecks for those who've never gotten their hands dirty handling the mail?
