ThomasS. Goodman

Thomas Shannon “Tom” Goodman, 57, of Grimes died April 8, 2006, in Sutter County.


Born in Woodland, he was a life-long Mid-Valley resident.


He was a retired warehouseman after working for Cargill Warehouse in Grimes for 30 years. In addition, for 25 years he was part of a University of California, Davis program to increase sturgeon population.


He attended Arbuckle Elementary Grammar School, graduated from Pierce High School in 1966 and attended Yuba College.


A former member of the Grand Island Volunteer Fire Department and the Arbuckle Fire Department, he was also a coach for Grimes Little League and a member of the Colusa Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.


He served in the California National Guard from 1967 to 1973.


Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rebecca L. Goodman of Grimes; two sons, Jeffery J. “J.J.” Goodman of Grimes and Thomas F. Goodman of Antelope; a daughter, Kelcey S. Goodman of Antelope; two brothers, Don Goodman of Albion and Bill Goodman of Lewiston; a sister, Noretta Snow of Woodland; and four grandchildren.


Donations may be made to Grand Island Fire Department, P.O. Box 160, Grimes, CA 95950; or Grimes Library, P.O. Box 275, Grimes, CA 95950.


Services: An outdoor memorial service is at 1 p.m. Friday at Lovey's Landing, 3474 N. Meridian Road, Meridian. Jeanne McCullough will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Twin Cities in Yuba City.
