Letter: Stop wars on Third World countries
Americans need to band together to stop these aggressive unconstitutional wars the government is waging on Third World countries.
As of 2010, the American government has spent $3.7 trillion in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Where do they get the money to fund this? The victim taxpayer. Now, they deem it necessary to raise our taxes to protect us from the "fiscal cliff."
The budget cuts laid out by the overlord President Barack Obama are just proposed cuts. For example, if I were eating cheeseburgers, and at the rate I was eating them, I was going to gain 20 pounds at the end of the month. Instead of just taking cheeseburgers out of my diet completely, I just ate less of them and I only gained 10 pounds, well the government counts that as a loss of 10 pounds, but really I still gained weight.
The American government out spends every other country combined on just the defense budget. In 2011, America spent $739.3 billion on just the defense budget alone. Why don't we bring our troops home? We have over 900 military bases in 135 countries around the world. American government talks about it being necessary for a good defense. I say it seems a little more offensive than defensive. The defense budget isn't even talked about. Why not? We need to stop spreading democracy through bombs and spread democracy through peace.
