69th Anniversary: Houle
Yuba City residents Ralph and Elsa Clare Houle, the former Elsa Mahowald, celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
The couple were married Oct. 31, 1940, in Minneapolis and have been Yuba-Sutter residents for many years. They formerly lived in Colton.
He is retired from the Pomona Division of General Dynamics and served as a flight engineer in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Rifle Association.
She retired from Pacific Telephone after 30 years, later working in the antique doll business for 12 years, and is a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
They have two daughters, Janet Landero of Colton and Judy Jelin of Las Vegas. Their family also includes seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
