Mary W. Hamma
Mary Wilcox Hamma, 98, of Sunnyvale died Feb. 12, 2007, at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View.
Born in Martinez, she was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 54 years, living in Marysville.
She retired after many years as a kindergarten teacher at Walter Kynoch Elementary School in Marysville. Earlier she has also taught at Mary Covillaud Elementary School and the Marysville and Yuba City high schools. Also, she served as director of Jack and Jill Nursery School for several years.
She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in art and received her teaching credential at San Jose State College.
In addition, she was a member of the California Retired Teachers Association, Eastern Star and Delta Zeta Sorority.
Survivors include a son, George Hamma of Sunnyvale; a daughter, Bernita Hamma Fuller of West Covina; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hamma.
Services: Services are private. Arrangements were under the direction of the Neptune Society of Central California, San Jose.
