U.S. Marine Cpl. Tristan Harper

U.S. Marine Cpl. Tristan Harper is the son of Deliah Springer and stepson of Lee Springer of Wheatland. He is the brother of Michael and Amanda Robinson of Wheatland and grandson of Jean McStocker, Michael Knaggs and Peter Harper, all of England.

Harper was an Eagle Scout and attended Wheatland High School, where he was active in football and Future Farmers of America. He graduated in June 2008 and joined the Marines.

He completed basic training in San Diego and combat training at Camp Pendleton, attaining expert marksman rating. He went to Fort Sill, Okla., for additional training and now serves as a fire direction controlman.

Harper is stationed at Camp Pendleton and is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in the new year.
