How has working with the public affected you? It makes you understand what people are going through when they are busy. I'm much more understanding, compassionate.
Hobbies, interests: We like to go on family trips, do kid-oriented stuff.
What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? Born here, grew up in Brownsville.
What keeps you in the Yuba-Sutter area? My husband has a local business.
Where do you get your news? We used to get the paper. Now I watch the news on TV and hear it from people. I work at Starbucks early in the morning, so people let you know what's going on.
What do you like about this area? Even though our town is getting bigger, it still has a small-town feel.
What is your dream vacation? Disney World.
What is the closest you've been to a famous person? The other night, my husband and I went to dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House restaurant in Roseville. As we were picking up our car from the valet, Bobby Jackson, former Sacramento Kings player, was dropping his car off.
What would you do with a million dollars? I would pay off my house, pay off all our bills, then hopefully go on trips and do things we would like to do.
Who has had a strong effect on your life? My mom — she's really close with my sisters. I hope I will be a mom like her.
Favorite places to go to in the area? My husband and I like to go out to local restaurants.
What has been a significant event in your life? My dad passed away last August. I think that made my sisters and I a lot closer.
What is one of your fondest memories? Most recently, my sister and I got to dedicate our children in the church, The Bride, in Yuba City.
What would you like to see different in the community? More activities to do with young children. Maybe more things we could take the kids to do like indoor trampoline, miniature golf.
Favorite movie: "Dumb and Dumber" — it still makes me laugh.
