Letter: Yuba-Sutter Volunteers back Harris
The Yuba-Sutter Volunteers support Mayor Bill Harris, and you should, too.
I have read and heard a lot of negative things about Harris. People are saying he does not do anything for Marysville or that he is too ineffective to help Marysville prosper, and I say these people are very wrong.
Harris has supported our volunteer efforts from just about the beginning. He has donated to our causes, granted every request we have taken before him and brought water and ice out to our events. Obviously, he cannot come out and physically work with us, but I am sure if he was able, he would be pushing mowers and wielding rakes right alongside us.
I cannot say the same for the other Marysville mayoral candidate, despite the fact that he is fairly young and in good physical health.
Harris assured us at a City Council meeting that the faucet at Veterans Park would be left on for our use during the winter so we could continue to clean the Veterans Memorial.
When the water was shut off anyway, Harris ordered it turned back on. When he found out on Thursday morning the water was still off, he went above and beyond, on his own time, to get it turned back on before lunch time.
Thank you, Bill Harris, for your support of the city's volunteers.
Keep Harris as mayor and elect Christopher Pedigo to City Council and you cannot go wrong.
