Doctors set to join Sutter North
Dermatologists Drs. Robert M. Peppercorn and Foy W. Cox of Advanced Dermatology and Laser Center in Yuba City are joining the Sutter North Medical Foundation effective December.
Physician assistants Linda Nelson and Jason Roddick are also continuing with the laser center team.
The physicians and physician assistants will continue to see patients at their current offices at 350 Del Norte Ave., Yuba City.
In addition, the laser center's support staff of more than 23 employees will become Sutter North Medical Foundation employees and office operations will be handled by the foundation.
The California Institute of Skin and Beauty and the Colusa Clinic are not part of the affiliation agreement.

Diabetes health fair set Saturday
A free diabetes health fair hosted by the Fremont-Rideout Foundation is set from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in Yuba City.
Held at the Fremont-Rideout Conference Center at 989 Plumas St., the fair "Living Well with Diabetes" includes screenings, exhibits and lectures.
Topics includes an overview of diabetes management, eye complications, leading a better life with diabetes and how to make the most of your visit to the doctor.
Medical professionals attending the event include Drs. Jasbir Kang, Pranav Amin, David Miller and Candace Wittenberg.
Admission is free. For reservations, call 751-4245. Space is limited.
Sponsors for the event include the foundation's outpatient nutrition and diabetes education services.

Health library sets holiday closure
Sutter North Medical Foundation's Health Education Access Library will be closed to the public Nov. 23 to 27 in observance of Thanksgiving.
The free community library is regularly open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Orthopedists join Sutter North
Dr. Amber Chatwin and physician assistant Adam Mick recently have joined Sutter North Medical Group in Yuba City.
Chatwin, who will see patients at the group's orthopedic department at 470 Plumas Blvd., earned her medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, completed her internship in general surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and her residency in orthopedic surgery at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, N.Y.
She completed a knee fellowship at Jewett Orthopedic Clinic.
Mick earned a bachelor's degree in health sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno, and completed a master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Pacific, Stockton.
He has worked eight years in outpatient orthopedics and previously worked as the team physical therapist for the University of Nevada, Reno Rugby clubs.
Mick will see patients at the medical group's physical therapy center at 420 B St.

Tickets available for UCD gala
Tickets are on sale for the upcoming 30th annual Wine Tasting and Auction Benefit for UC Davis School of Medicine.
Slated from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 9, the event will be in the UCD Education Building, 4610 X St., Sacramento. This year's theme is "masquerade ball."
Activities include silent and live auctions; live music; and food and wine from local businesses.
Tickets are $30 and $55 general admission; and $45 early bird purchase. Proceeds benefit the student-run community health clinics that provide free health care to underserved communities in the Sacramento area.

Sutter North surgery receives award
Sutter North Medical Foundation's Ambulatory Surgery Center was recently awarded the Sutter Star Award for outstanding performance.
The award, given by affiliate Sutter Health, was given during a Leadership Development Institute meeting.
