Semi tips over on Highway 70, spilling dirt
Traffic backed up on southbound Highway 70 in Yuba County for more than an hour after a semi-truck spilled a large amount of dirt on the roadway during a minor fender-bender with another truck.
Nobody was injured, the California Highway Patrol said.
Names of the drivers involved were not released Tuesday, but no arrests were expected.
A truck with two trailers hauling dirt clipped the back of another truck at about 2:10 p.m. while heading south on Highway 70, just before Erle Road. The back trailer tipped over, spilling a large amount of dirt in the right lane.
One lane of traffic was closed until just before 3:30 p.m. while a work crew from the state Department of Transportation cleaned up the scene.
Traffic was slow-going through one lane of traffic until the road re-opened.
