Talk Back: Dec. 10, 2012
Mason Jackson, an elderly homeless man, was found dead inside his tent on Dec. 2.
My heart is saddened this morning. I believe this is the same man that my son befriended while fishing. He would go down to the river bottoms to find Jackson to give him some of our left over dinners and at Christmas time made Jackson a plate. Thank you Mr. Jackson for entrusting your life stories, spending time with my son and the friendship he developed with you!
— Tammi Ross
We have so many colorful characters. That is wonderful thing about Marysville, we just celebrate who you are and accept you. Sad to see another one gone. He will be missed.
— Julie Martin Coulson
My son called him Action Jackson and we made him sandwiches and tacos every now and then. He was a very nice man who didn't bother anyone.
— Jannelle Seaton
He was a gentle man. Very kind and never had anything to complain about. He was a client of mine years ago when I was working in Marysville. A very good man who was very pleasant.
— Billy Edick

A 1928 poster of Mickey Mouse sold for more than $100,000 in Dallas last week after it was stolen, and eventually returned, to a Yuba City family.
I love it when nice things happen to nice people.
— Sharon Thompson

A recent DUI court at Albert Powell High School taught students the reality of drunken driving.
I'm proud of Albert Powell for the efforts made to make students aware of the dangers of drinking and driving.
— Nancy Mora
Thank you Judge Aronson for your continued support of this project! Thanks also to the schools that have participated in this program for bringing this harsh reality to their students.
— Bob Harlan
This an extremely powerful project. I have heard from many students that have sat through DUI court in their respective schools and they have all stated that it had a huge impact and that they decided to sign the pledge to not drink and drive.
— Angel Diaz
Squeeze Inn is scheduled to open in Yuba City soon.
I can't wait to try it! I have heard way more good things than bad!
— Makayla Jellsey
Squeeze Inn is a good burger. Hey — YC is looking up with Sierra Central building a corporate location and Squeeze Inn coming.
