• Name: Jimmy McBride

• Age: 58

• Family: I have eight children. Two have moved out of state and six are local.

• City of residence: Yuba City

• Occupation: Director of security at the Yuba-Sutter Mall

• Hobbies, interests: I enjoy playing the guitar and I like sports.

• Where do you get your news? I read the Appeal-Democrat daily, watch the local news and CNN.

• What keeps you in the Yuba-Sutter area? Family and friends. I'm originally from here, but I left for 12 years and moved to Kansas. When I came back I realized how much I missed it, my roots are here.

• What is the closest you've been to a famous person? I used to play guitar with the Allman Brothers Band. That was back in 1971.

• If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? Cheaper gas.

• Favorite musical group: The Beatles

• Favorite sports team: Oakland Raiders

• Tell us about a life-changing experience: Working security. It's a day-to-day, life-changing experience. You have the opportunity to help people and you never know from one minute to the next what situation you'll be in.

• What was your first job? Washing dishes at a military base in Arizona when I was 15.

• How would you describe yourself? A very out-going and likeable person.

• What kind of pets do you have? An Austrialian Sheperd mix named Dog.

• What is your favorite part of the job? Meeting people. I'm a very people-orientated person.

• What are some of your fondest memories? Spending time with grandparents raising children, with family.

• If you were in charge, what would you change about the community? As a community I think we need more opportunity for children, more entertainment. I deal with a lot of children and I see there are not many activities for juveniles. They have a lot of free time on their hands and that can cause them to get creative. We need more activities, like a gymnasium to keep them occupied.

• Do you play any instruments? Guitar and piano

• What was the last good book you read? I'm a Beatle maniac and since I'm not much of a reader, I'd say "Spaniard in works," by John Lennon
