• Where do you get your news? Mostly the Internet

• What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? I grew up in Arboga and moved back to the area from San Francisco in early July.

• Where would you like to live after high school, college? Portland

• What is the closest you've been to a famous person? I saw Steven Hall, author of "The Raw Shark Texts," at a book store on Haight Street in San Francisco.

• If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? Freedom from obligation

• Favorite musical groups: Pearl Jam and Floater

• Favorite television show: I don't watch TV.

• Who do you most admire and why? Anybody who does what they want with their life. Few people pursue it because there's too much risk.

• Tell us about a life-changing experience: Going to the Amicus Books poetry group after high school. Almost everyone now in my life came from that, and it changed all my plans.

• What was your first job? Working as a receptionist at my dad's excavation company.

• How would you describe yourself? Very curious

• What kind of pets do you have? A cat named H.P. Lovecraft

• What was your favorite/least favorite subject in school? Favorite, music; least favorite, dance

• What are your favorite places to go in Yuba-Sutter/Mid-Valley/Sacramento area? The Marysville Cemetery

• What is your dream job? Freelance artist, if that's remotely possible

• Do you belong to any clubs or organizations in the community? Besides the poetry group, I'm trying to get a bicycle advocacy group started.

• What are your favorite foods? Sandwiches with avocado and cheese

• What are some of your fondest memories? Hanging out with the people I care about

• Do you play any instruments? Guitar and bass. I played trumpet for awhile in my high school jazz band.

• If you were in charge, what would you change about the community? There would be more space, physically and mentally, for artistic expression, and more acceptance of different lifestyles.

• What was the last good book you read? "The Royal Family," by William T. Vollmann

• Favorite book: "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut

• Favorite movie: "Harold and Maude"

• What is your worst fear? Drowning or suffocation

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
Yes. We've gone too long with limited options for homeless families.
It's a good idea, but the fire station is a bad location for this.
