• City of residence: Yuba City

• Occupation: Retired caregiver, full-time house grandmother

• Hobbies, interests: Minister at a church fellowship center on Garden Highway, I lead the choir and I'm a praise leader. I also teach Sunday school and help with our rest home service. I also like cooking, baking, reading.

• Where do you get your news? Appeal-Democrat, KCRA

• What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? My mom and dad came here from Arkansas in 1941, for work. We started in Arkansas with mattresses on top of our car, to come here and pick prunes. I just barely remember it.

• What keeps you in the Yuba-Sutter area? My church and my family.

• Favorite television show: "The Price is Right," "Family Feud"

• Favorite sports team: Philadelphia Phillies

• What was your first job? Picking prunes in an orchard. I was about 5 years old, we all had to work.

• How would you describe yourself? Most of the time, I laugh. Most of the time, I'm happy. I'm healthy and I love people.

• Do you have a nickname? Aunt Myrnie or Grandma, which is what my relatives call me.

• Can you tell us about a life-changing experience? When I got saved by the Lord and got to know him, I became a new person. That happened when I was 17. Every day is something new when you serve God and you think about him.

• What was your favorite/least favorite subject in school? I liked spelling, and I hated math. I never could figure it out, but it works now when I cook.

• What are your favorite places to go in Yuba-Sutter/Mid-Valley/ Sacramento area? I really like going to my church and the rest home.

• What is your dream job? I'd love to run a day care. I love little kids.

• What is your favorite part of the job? Going to church and being a minister and telling people how good God is and how much their lives can be with him.

• Do you belong to any clubs or organizations in the community? Fellowship Center Church in Yuba City.

• What are some of your fondest memories? I had a good home life as a kid, I knew my parents loved me. And seeing my babies and my grandbabies being born.

• What are your favorite foods? Any kind. I like sweet stuff, but I'm diabetic so I'm not supposed to have them!

• If you were in charge, what would you change about the community? Like to give young people more to do, some place to go other than being on the street.

• What kind of books do you like? The Bible. I probably read something out of it just about every day. I'm also a fan of testimonial type books.

• What is your worst fear? That something would happen to my kids or grandkids, since we're all pretty close.

• What makes you laugh? Just about anything. One of my favorite TV shows is "America's Funniest Home Videos." A good funny movie will do it, too.

• Any pet peeves? When I'm driving I get a little irritable. I'd like to change that.

• Best advice you ever got? To live for the Lord. My sister-in-law told me that. It still stands today.

• If you had more time, what would you do? I'd do more in my church, do more testifying in the community.
