Letter: Letters policy

The majority of readers' letters to the editor are e-mailed to the newspaper at ADLetters@appealdemocrat.com. It's the preferred method of receipt.

However, we still get about a half-dozen handwritten or typed letters mailed to or dropped off at the office each week, and inevitably at least one of those letters lacks the writer's contact information.

For verification, letters to the editor must include full name, signature, full address and daytime telephone number. Letter writers can expect a call from the newspaper about their letter.
