Letter: Falsehoods fuel nation's emotions

Good people are often duped. Have you been? Here are some facts you might consider. Remember the recent town halls' angry and hateful emotional crowds?

Background: At these meetings questions like "I hear if you're at a certain age you'll have to go before a committee where they are going to try to convince you that its not in the interest of the country for you to get the medical care you need (at four different meetings)."

At all meetings scripted questions that frighten the public were asked that were false, all designed to kill Obama's health care plan.

None of those claims causing people to fear were true. Where did they come from?

Answer: From a Web site of the Liberty Council, a Christian law firm and advocacy group related to Jerry Falwell's Liberty University in Virginia.

The right-wing blogger Peter Fleckenstein had posted falsehoods about Obama's health care plans. Under the imprimatur of the Liberty Council, read by a great number of Christians. I respond, "My, my, o my members of the Liberty Council, do you actually think God needs your abominable lies to help him out?"
