YC soccer earns third straight draw
Kirstin Johnson had six kills and two blocks, fellow senior Kiley DeCoster added eight kills and the Wheatland High volleyball team cruised to a straight-set 25-7, 25-21, 25-5 victory at Live Oak on Wednesday night.
Setter Jamie Adams had 15 assists and seven aces for the Pirates, who upped their record to 6-1 with the win.
Live Oak won the junior varsity match 25-23, 16-25, 15-10.

In Lincoln — The Honkers had to settle for their third straight draw as they couldn't find the net in the second half.
Michael Chavez scored Yuba City's lone goal on an assist from Donovan Guzman.
Coach Sean Nelson credited Omar Gonzalez with strong defense and lauded the play of senior goalkeeper Victor Alcantar.
Yuba City (2-2-3) hosts Lindhurst at Honker Stadium on Saturday at 6 p.m.
