Air Force Reserve Airman Joseph R. Wismann graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The son of Herbert Wismann of Linda and Linda Hulsey of Wheatland, he is a 2003 graduate of Lindhurst High School.

Navy Seaman Maxim Lorenze R. Agati completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

He is the son of Rufino M. Agati of Marysville.

Air Force Airman Edward L. Ownbey III graduated from the F-22 Aerospace Maintenance Apprentice Course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas.

A 2010 graduate of South Lindhurst High School, he is the son of Elizabeth J. and Edward L. Ownbey Jr. of Olivehurst.

Army Pfc. Christian T. Wahlberg, a 2011 graduate of River Valley High School in Yuba City, graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

He is the son of Shannon Velasquez and stepson of Dan Velasquez of Yuba City.

Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Jonathan C. Scarfe, son of Margaret and Charles Scarfe of Yuba City, graduated from the Combat Engineer Officer Course with distinction.

He is a 1997 graduate of Yuba City High School and joined the Marine Corps in September 1997.

In addition, he received a bachelor's degree in 2010 from the University of Arizona.
