Monthly Lioness breakfast Sunday

The Loma Rica Lioness Club’s monthly community breakfast is from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Foothill Lions Community Center, 5667 Fruitland Road, Loma Rica.

Prices are $5.50 for adults; $4.50 for ages 55 and over; and $3.50 for children under 12 years.

Yuba City

Scary movie set for diabetes group

Activities include a scary movie during Kid’s Night In, hosted by the Yuba-Sutter Children’s Type 1 Diabetes Support Group and Resource Center.

The program is from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27 at 990 Klamath Lane, Suite 1, Yuba City.

Admission is free for support group members and $5 for non-members.

Live Oak

Lions craft fair planned Nov. 3

More than 36 crafters are featured in the 22nd Annual Craft Fair sponsored by the Live Oak Lions Club.

Hamburgers, hot dogs and chili, along with soda and water, will be for sale during the day.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Live Oak Community Building 10200 O St.., Live Oak.

Limited space for vendors is still available.

Donations of used eye glasses and hearing aids are also being accepted during the fair.

Craft, gift auction set for Nov. 3

Xi Sigma Omicron’s annual craft and gift auction is set Nov. 3 at the Sutter-Yuba Board of Realtors office, 1588 Starr Drive, Yuba City.

Preview of the auction items starts at 6 p.m., with the live auction at 6:30 p.m.

Mock interviews planned Nov. 6

A program with mock interviews is part of an upcoming meeting of PowerTalk International, a local club of Cadencia Communicators.

The program will present examples of good and bad techniques for the job seeker.

The one-hour meeting is at 6:30 a.m. Nov. 6 at Gary’s Place, corner of Ninth and B streets, Marysville. Reservations are not required.

Yuba City

Gem, mineral show planned

The 20th Annual Festival of Gems and Minerals set in November at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds will feature a variety of dealers, exhibits and demonstrations.

With free admission, the festival is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 10 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at Franklin Hall, 442 Franklin Ave., Yuba City.

The day also includes a silent auction, food and prizes. Exhibits include fossils, carvings, metal detectors and findings.

Live Oak

Turkey bingo set by Lions

Turkey Bingo Night, sponsored by the Live Oak Lions Club, is set from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Live Oak Community Building, 10200 O St., Live Oak.

Doors open at 5 p.m.

The cost is $12 for six cards and $1 for three extra cards. Prizes include turkeys and other items for Thanksgiving.

Money raised goes to the club’s community and service programs including Little League, the Easter egg hunt and Diabetes Camp.

Donations of used eye glasses and hearing aids are also being accepted during the fair.

Marysville

GOP office expands its hours

The Yuba County Republican Party headquarters in Marysville has expanded its operating hours to six days a week.

The office, at 526 D St., is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
