60th Anniversary: Fillmore
September 23, 2006 - Live Oak residents Don and Pauline Fillmore, the former Pauline Fagerstone, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 27, held in conjunction with the celebration of the 25th wedding anniversary for their daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John McAvoy of Live Oak, with a luncheon and cake reception with family and friends at the Live Oak Church of the Brethren in Live Oak.
The couple also celebrated with a trip to Fort Bragg.
Meeting while she was playing third base for their junior high baseball team, they dated throughout high school and were married on Aug. 31, 1946, in Richvale.
Born in Live Oak, he attended Rio Bonita Elementary School. He is a retired rancher, farming rice and walnuts for many years.
Raised in Richvale, she attended Richvale Elementary School.
Both are graduates of Biggs High School and attended La Verne College. Also, they are members of the Live Oak Church of the Brethren.
They have four other children, Larry Fillmore of Live Oak, Dale Fillmore of Cohasset, Karen Hodges of Yuba City and the late Stanley Fillmore; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
