PREP ROUNDUP: Lindhurst's Lizama takes second at state
The Blazers girls showed they can wrestle with the best of them.
Lindhurst High's Teasia Lizama went 4-1 at the California Interscholastic Federation Girls State Wrestling Tournament held in Lemoore over the weekend to finish second place in the 126-pound weight class.
Kylie Taylor (103) and Christy Lor (118) each went 1-2.
PREP BASEBALL
Marysville 1, Colfax 0
In Marysville — Four pitchers combined for a two-hitter, and a pair of doubles saved the day as the Indians picked up their first win of the season.
David Wright, who earned the win, Hayden Page, Dylan Brown and Cody DePalma, who earned the save, all helped shut down Colfax.
Chase Collmer led off with a double in the fourth inning, before Blake Giles drove him home on a double. Chad Perry and Page each recorded the game's only other hits for Marysville (1-1).
PREP TENNIS
Forest Lake 5, Marysville 4
In Marysville — The Indians pulled off four tough victories to begin the season.
Keith Staples won 4-6, 7-6(10-4) in No. 1 singles, while Michelle Ngai won 4-6, 7-5(11-9) and May Lor pulled out a 6-2, 6-7(10-8) win.
In doubles, Lucy Murillo and Bayshta Aguilla teamed up for a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
