Political Briefs: Business groups support Logue

Assemblyman Dan Logue, R-Loma Rica, has gotten the backing of the National Federation of Independent Business for a final two-year term.

In a press release from Logue's campaign, NFIB California Executive Director John Kabateck said Logue has been a dependable ally as a legislator to small businesses.

"Lower taxes, fewer regulations and reform of frivolous lawsuits are all things Dan supports and that is why we are proud to support him," Kabateck said in the release.

The release also noted Logue, seeking re-election to the 3rd Assembly District, has consistently received "A" ratings from the federation on his voting record.

Logue has also picked up the endorsement of the California Small Business Association, which also gave him its highest possible ran ing for votes on business-related issues.

Meet Gill on Friday

A meet and greet with Yuba City City Council candidate Kash Gill is from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. todayat The Refuge, 1501 Butte House Road, Yuba City.

The get-together is hosted by Dan Flores and Karm Bains.

Deputies support Heckman

The Sutter County Deputy Sheriff's Association has added its support to Sarah Heckman, candidate for Sutter County Superior Court judge.

A letter addressed to the candidate, from association president Larry Ferguson, noted that the results of a vote showed that the membership believes she is the best candidate for the position.
