Letter: Proposition 8 will prevail righteously

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

You have to admire the strategy and determination when about 2 percent of Californians sway the worldview and votes of the majority. After the upcoming loss of Proposition 8, it will affirm that a state marriage includes two humans of the same gender and eventually a man and a sheep, a lady and a pony, or any human and something he/she desires to be coupled with.

Many may be distraught over this, but they need not be. Though marriage licenses no longer permit a man and a woman to be married as bride and groom, the state has done future traditional marriage partners a favor. Marriage is God's plan, not man's idea. And the church will continue to solemnize real unions.

Government controlling and taxing marriage is a recent development. For those who are sick of the state regulating and taxing their every move, it will be a welcome change to ignore the state's marriage nonsense.

A deranged government is something to be pitied and avoided, not followed. When it becomes oppressive, it should be overthrown.

Truth will prevail. History will allot Jerry Brown's deceptive Proposition 8 ballot description, the anti-8 campaign misinformation, and the funding of anti-8 by once-esteemed Pacific Gas & Electric to the liars and fools column.

The religious crushed Jesus, calling him a devil. The Supreme Court legitimized slavery and killing babies. Nazi's rationalized the extermination of Jews. Four judges decide that a horse is a cow. The deceived are consistent.

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
Yes. We've gone too long with limited options for homeless families.
It's a good idea, but the fire station is a bad location for this.
No. The city has better things they can use the building for.
I'm not sure.
