Letter: Mary helped save patient's life
Comments 0 | Recommend 0I was admitted to Rideout Hospital for a simple surgery. I developed an infection and was given penecillin.
I didn't know I was allergic to penecillin, and suddenly I was in anaphylactic shock, and the nurses knew just what to do and they did it, and I am here to praise everyone who took care of me that night.
The person who realized I was in trouble was Mary from the lab; she took one look and knew it was bad. As they worked on me she stayed with me for over an hour. She held my hand and talked to me. This lady saved my life.
She kept talking to me telling me how much I had to live for; for that I will be forever grateful. Mary, I can't visit you but you know you are in my heart and I thank God every night that you were there. Many thanks to all the nurses who cared for me that whole week. And thanks to the Appeal-Democrat for allowing me to tell everyone that FRHG offers the best care anywhere.
