Man with marijuana, knife in car evades Marysville police
A man avoided arrest Tuesday after running from police in Marysville.
The man, described by police as white, early to mid-20s, tall and slender with dark hair, was spotted driving too fast around 2:50 p.m. on E Street, Chief Wally Fullerton said. Officers conducted unrelated interviews near E Street and had to run back to their vehicles to pursue the man.
“He had a pretty good head start,” Fullerton said.
Police chased the man, who was driving black Dodge pickup truck, to the Save Mart parking lot on J Street. The man left the vehicle running and took off on foot up over the levee into a park.
Officers found three jars full of marijuana and a 14-inch knife inside the truck, Fullerton said.
Anyone with information regarding the man’s identity or whereabouts is asked to contact the Marysville Police Department at 749-3900.
