Blood drive set at Maxwell High
BloodSource is hosting a community blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Maxwell High School, 515 Oak St., Maxwell.
Donors must be in generally good health; weigh at least 110 pounds; be free from cold symptoms for at least 48 hours; and at least 17 years old.
Donors age 16 must have parental consent.
Photo identification is required.
All participants receive a BloodSource T-shirt and MyBloodSource Rewards to redeem online for other items.

Art Club meeting planned Monday
A luncheon of meat loaf will be served at the next meeting of the Marysville Art Club.
The meeting, at noon Monday at 420 10th St. in Marysville, includes a program by guest speaker Jennifer Miller from the Flower Hut in Wheatland.

Christian Women change location
"It's All New" is the theme for the next Yuba City/Marysville Christian Women's Connection luncheon held at a new location.
The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 12 at New Earth Market, the Harvest Room, 1475 Tharp Road, Yuba City.
Attendees will learn about "Healthy Living in Yuba-Sutter" and services provided by New Earth Market.
The program also includes music provided by soloist Wendy Cooper and guest speaker Guadalupe Casillas.

Sculptor featured at gallery
Sculptor Yoseph Adams is the featured artist in February at The Theater Gallery, 752 Plumas St., Yuba City.
Paintings by David Garibaldi are also on display throughout the month.
An artist's reception is set from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at the gallery. Admission is free.
The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Takhar to lead Sutter Republicans
Sarb Takhar was named executive committee chair of the Sutter County Republican Central Committee meeting held Jan. 14.
New officers elected for the 2013-2014 term also include Ken DeVore, vice chair; Kimberly Ross Pollard, recording secretary; Matt Osterli, press secretary; and Stephen Elliot, treasurer.
The committee meets the first Thursday of each month.

Art Club Tea tickets available
Tickets are available for the Marysville Art Club's fifth annual "Tea" scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 23 at 420 10th St., Marysville.
A light lunch of finger sandwiches, teas and desserts will be served.
In addition, the event includes guest speaker Dr. Baron Harper from the Heart Center at Rideout, a silent auction and pianist Alexander Agapiades.
Tickets are $10 each, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Dr. Harper's heart foundation.
