Letter: Building up is the way to grow

I read with great interest your editorial on land use.

What I would like to see done mainly in Marysville is to build up like they have done on the East Coast. To waste land or under-utilize it is a crime. To build out instead of up just because you can is wrong.

The nice thing about Marysville is all government offices are downtown.

If you look at Yuba City, their government said downtown was not good enough for them, so they left the downtown, and now they are trying to save it from afar. They say the taxpayers should save it when the people in power said it was not good enough for them, so they moved.

Now Marysville powers stayed and said let's solve this together. Marysville is the better for it as it has a strong base to work from. Building up is the way of new growth.
