Letter: Marysville Joint Unified administrators' salaries questioned

I am compelled to write regarding the Feb. 27 front page article titled "Still no raise for Marysville superintendent." Gay Todd is paid $196,000 annually, the assistant superintendent is paid $165,487 and Ramiro Carreon is paid $155,750. Really, you folks can't live off that?

We are told our schools are going to suffer cutbacks due to budget shortfalls, yet the discussion is of these folk getting increased pay? Who are these people to take from our children?

Shame on all three of you for not saying, "Enough already, I don't need a raise." Shame on you for allowing more money to be spent to revisit the subject when the Marysville Joint Unified School District trustees have already rejected the raises. I say "boo hoo" to all three of you; don't we all wish we earned even $80,000 a year plus any other benefits you enjoy? We don't and we survive just fine. Get your heads out of the clouds.
