65th Anniversary: Royat

Ellis and Marie Royat of Browns Valley were honored on their 65th wedding anniversary during festivities hosted by the Marysville First United Methodist Church.

The couple were married Oct. 9, 1943, in Tempe, Ariz. Both are natives of the Yuba-Sutter area and are graduates of Marysville High School and Yuba College.

He retired from Pacific Gas and Electric Company after 36 years and she retired after teaching 30 years for the Marysville Joint Unified School District.

They have two children, Dolores Wager of Alturas and Robert Royat of Chico.

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
