Letter: Marysville welcomes money, but not skaters
To the young people of Marysville, I suggest you use the soon-to-be Washington Square Park parking lot as your new skate park. There will be lots of concrete, and I'm sure, lots of curbs to practice on. There certainly won't be any trees in the way.
When you are hungry, you can roll into Panda Express.
In case of injuries, you can get first aid supplies at the CVS store, and if their prices aren't appealing, you can go right next door to the other CVS store named Walgreens. Maybe you can ask Tri Counties Bank if you can use their abandoned property on E-Street. Their parking lot is big enough to set up some ramps, etc. and the Burger King would love to have your business.
I'm sorry, but Mayor Bill Harris does not want to attract young people like you by building a skate park within the city, so you will have to be content with the many derelict buildings and abandoned lots around town.
But don't forget to spend your money in Marysville — that is always welcome.
