25th Anniversary: Mata

September 23, 2006 - Marysville residents Anthony Patrick Mata and Lisa Michelle Mata, the former Lisa Sage, plan to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Oct. 10.

The couple met while he was an airman first-class at Beale Air Force Base and she was a student at Yuba College. He asked her father, Senior Master Sgt. William F. Sage, for his daughter's hand in marriage. He proposed on 17 Mile Drive in Monterey and they were married Oct. 10, 1981, on Beale Air Force Base.

A graduate of C.K. McClatchey High School in Sacramento, he attended Consumnes River Junior College. He is a firefighter captain.

A graduate of Wheatland High School, she attended Yuba College. She is a housing flight chief.

They have worked for the Beale Air Force Base for 27 and 28 years, respectively.

The couple have one child, Alex Mata of Marysville.
