Larry J. Mattos

Larry J. Mattos, 55 of Biggs died Jan. 22, 2006, at Enloe Medical Center in Chico.


Born in Gustine, he was a Mid-Valley resident for 54 years.


He worked for the City of Gridley as a maintenance worker for many years.


He was a 1969 graduate of Biggs High School.


He was a member of the California Deer Association and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.


Survivors include a daughter, Lori Hungerford of Chico; his mother, Olga Mattos of Biggs; and three brothers, Gary Mattos of Biggs, George Mattos of Brownsville and Richard Mattos of Creswell, Ore.


He was preceded in death by his father, George Mattos.


Services: Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1560 Hazel St., Gridley, preceded by a rosary at 9 a.m. Rev. Benedict DeLeon of St. Thomas Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
