Saying good-bye to Rex
I just heard some sad news.
Radio personality Rex McNeill of Sunny 101.5 FM is leaving the Yuba-Sutter area after nearly three years in the area. His last day on the air is Friday.
"I'm going to miss everybody in Yuba City," McNeill said during a Wednesday interview. "It's been a real good time, but it's time for me to move on."
The morning show host is leaving to do traffic reports for a variety of stations in Sacramento. He will also host a Saturday show on KUIC 95.3 FM in Vacaville/San Francisco before moving into a morning or afternoon drive-time shift.
"It's just an offer I can't refuse since they came looking for me," McNeill said. "I just want everyone to know how much I've enjoyed working in the Yuba-Sutter community and I how much the support we've received from the community has meant to me."
McNeill has been a great source of entertainment in the mornings with his fun celebrity interviews and easy-going personality. While he'll be missed, fans shouldn't worry too much. McNeill said listeners can still hear him on the Internet at www.kuic.com.
Hey Jude
Since we're already talking about sad news, we might as well discuss the recent shocking revelations that have stunned the world at large.
No, I'm not talking about Karl Rove and White House leaks or Democratic attempts to block Supreme Court nominees. This is far more important and earth-shaking than any of that political nonsense. In fact, it could change the way Americans view their heroes from here on out.
After years of speculation and investigation, it appears that celebrities are - wait for it - human beings. Just like us! And just like us, they make some really dumb decisions.
I'm sure you've heard of Jude Law's recent shenanigans. The actor, who is engaged to hot, young Brit "It girl" Sienna Miller, is reportedly inconsolable at the thought of losing his fiancée following Law's affair with his children's nanny.
Poor, poor Jude. It must be tough starring in his own version of "The Nanny Diaries." Perhaps next time he's feeling sad and loney, he'll just settle for an ego stroke.
And what about Kevin Federline, Britney Spears' other half? According to his first baby mama, actress Shar Jackson, he recently was AWOL for his son's first birthday party.
It's shocking, I know. Who would have expected that from the guy who left Jackson for Britney while she was pregnant with said child?
