Talk Back: Yuba County measures, racial attitudes, young hero
Yuba County voters have to vote on Measures T, U and V on Nov. 6.
Vote NO on T. We don't need any further "unintended consequences" from POORLY written measures.
— James and Michele Edwards
I'll be voting NO on Measure U. A good reason why to vote no, they don't even have a set interest rate for the loan.
— Tom Gagner
There are enough sub divisions in Yuba County with empty houses and lots that need to be built upon and we don't need any more land to be used for that purpose. Also if you look around there are also commercial buildings that can be re purposed for any new business. Let's use what we have before allowing any more land sold for this.
— Geri Shaeffer
Measure T is like hunting rats with a howitzer. You will kill the rats but there will be collateral damage.
— Thomas Mayer
An Associated Press poll shows attitudes toward blacks haven't changed in the four years since Barack Obama was elected president.
So if you DON'T vote for Obama because he's black you're branded racist. But if you DO vote for Obama because he's black it's just "pro black sentiment." What an interesting double standard.
— Brad Van Bibber
Obama, the lamestream media, and democrat racists like Chris Matthews and Whoopi Goldberg would have succeeded into turning me into a racist by now, too, if it weren't for good, intelligent, courageous black people like Lloyd Marcus, Thomas Sowell, Walter E. Williams, Mia Love, Allen West, and Clarence Thomas.
— Carla Virga
River Valley High School freshman Nicholas Forsberg is being called a hero for alerting firefighters to a blaze in Yuba City.
There are some great kids living in our communities... and every once in a while we get to see them in action. Who says we no longer have heroes... they walk among us every day... we just don't always notice them or hear about them. Great job Nick Forsberg!
— Angel Diaz
Great job Nicholas Forsberg! You are a great young man!
— Marty Burdine
You are a BIG HERO!
— Patty McCartney-Prado
